Who We Are

OURS, Inc. is a Christian non-profit based in California, but with a global reach. We are pastors, lawyers, business professionals, doctors, students, teachers, and community organizers, among others. We are white collar and blue collar. We come from every ethnicity and culture, and hail from around the world. Together, we want to seek lasting, holistic change as we confront issues affecting inner city neighborhoods and at risk youth.

Board of Directors

Daniel PyonRev. Daniel S. Pyon
President & CEO of OURS, Inc.

Danny Pyon is the founder and President & CEO of OURS, Inc. What began as a passion for gangs and at risk youth during late middle school and early high school quickly grew to include all of the city, all youths, as well as human trafficking.

Danny has been involved in urban and youth ministry for the past 15 years, having served as a youth-, college-, and young adult pastor, youth and urban ministry consultant for churches, denominations, mission agencies, schools, and various organizations. He has also been a conference speaker, and served as the national director for the Students For Christ (SFC) movement. He has ministered in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and now California. He has worked for Dr. Tony and Bart Campolo’s ministries EAPE/PPYM, as well as various other inner city ministries throughout the US.

Danny is a much sought after speaker who is able to cut across all boundaries of race, class, gender, education, generations, denominations, and traditions to convey his message with clarity and conviction for all audiences. His passion for God/His people and all aspects of life will be quickly evident and a challenge to all. Danny is still naive enough to believe that he can make a difference, but wise enough to know that he cannot do it alone.

Danny received a B.A. from Brandeis University (MA) triple majoring in African and African American Studies, History, and Sociology, a M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary (PA) and is currently pursuing a D.Min in urban mission from Westminster Theological Seminary (PA) specializing in areas of Cities and Youth. Danny was ordained in 2004 in the KPCA.

Our Staff

At OURS we have a different approach to staffing. We consider everyone who is involved with us as staff. The only difference is in the level of commitment. We do have paid staff who are based at our home office in California, but also rely just as heavily on our virtual staff, consisting of networks of people from all over the world ranging in various backgrounds (age, class, gender, race, and experience). When a team member commits to partnering with us, we place them in a virtual team that is most appropriate for them given their resources and availability. Depending on what we are working on we will solicit help from the appropriate teams.
Such teams include fundraisers, networkers, program developers, researchers, among others. No one group is more important than another. We encourage both young people’s input as well as those with more years under their belts, as we take a community approach to bringing about holistic change. After all, we believe such real change can only come about when mine and yours become OURS.
